You can search VBA modules globally in the VBA Editor and choose to find "in project."  Outside of modules, there is no global search unless you code it yourself.

The best I know of, and it works for Access objects, not data in tables is AccDevTools.
It does a great job poking in all parts of Access, some I didn't even know about.

I agree with Thomas. I use AccDevTools extensively and it is a real timesaver and a money saver. It is superb for finding any code. I use it for find and replace to create consistency in naming when I am merging different pieces of code. Well worth the cost.

Honestly, for looking for text in your code, I've never needed more than simple old CTRL-F.

Richard It goes way beyond VBA code. For example, I'm very structured with my variables, field/object names and descriptions. So, when I recently started renaming a lot of things for a major modification, Find and Replace came in real handy to have these names searched for in more than just the VBA code. Over and over again it found things that I had overlooked, often in places I knew nothing about. Sorry I can't be more specific; I was using the trial version, so I can't see all the places it searches for just now.

@Thomas - you hit the nail on the head. Unlike some of y'all (Mr. Rost...), getting this present project together after not using Access for an extended period was without full planning; not because i didn't try to plan - i have many sheets of paper that i now use the backs for notes to testify to that - but i didn't consider everything i should plan for.

As i have gained knowledge over the past several months i have done some restructuring to different degrees, sometimes blowing away a field in a table or query, sometimes blowing away a query or form in favor of a different angle. This opens up the door to other forms, queries, SQL  and code looking for things that do not exist. Ctrl-F handles the code, but when they are a part of SQL statements or in a form field's source, nope.

@Sami, et al... OK, are there any specific areas of concern? The way you cite this i believe you personally have stepped on some of those land mines-

I've had some time to actually use AccDev Tools and was very pleased with its power, well worth the price.

But i must say that Mr. Rost is quite correct; i sure could do a lot of damage in a hurry with this one (and it wouldn't be the first time. Nor the second. Nor the third., ...!

For those interested in spending roughly $50 on this tool - Though i use it and am very glad that it spans so many areas within Access, i am still trying to define a suspected issue of it not getting every instance of the targeted phrase. I have noticed this a few times now where i will run into something that was not converted in the Find & Replace. Trying to determine if it truly exists (i am generally too stressed out at the time), is it how i keyed things in, or whatever other circumstances might be involved-
