PromptCaption NameValue1

I get a runtime error 424 Object error on this statement -  Prompt.Caption = NameValue(1). The dropdown window does not show options when I type prompt. in the formload section. Any ideas?

Rusty
Please be more specific. See Rule #2.

Where is this code? Is "prompt" a filed name or a dimed variable.

Sorry, I thought since it was in the code Richard was demonstrating the location would be known. It's in this routine

DetailsPrivate Sub Form_Load()

    DoCmd.MoveSize 11000, 7000, 6500, 3000

    Dim Args As Variant
    Dim NameValue As Variant
    Dim x As Long

    Args = Split(Me.OpenArgs, ";")
    For x = LBound(Args) To UBound(Args)
        NameValue = Split(Args(x), "=")
        If UBound(NameValue) = 1 Then
            Select Case NameValue(0)
                Case "Title"
                    Me.Caption = NameValue(1)
                Case "Prompt"
                    Prompt.Caption = NameValue(1)
                Case Else
                    MsgBox "Unknown Name/Value Pair"
            End Select
        End If
    Next
End Sub

Sorry, I just found out why it did not work. I misspelled the label in the form. Once I fixed that all works fine.

It is a great honor to be a Moderator on Richard's website. But we are all volunteers and we have our jobs and businesses to take care of.
Richard has over 800 tech help videos not to mention his courses, seminars, and templates.

I can assure you, most moderators have watched every minute of video. I have.

Help us help you. Can you imagine what it would take for one of us to find that snippet of code?

I am happy you found the problem.

Sami The exact number of Tech Help videos (including Extended Cut and Gold Bonuses) released to date is: 1275.
A lot of excellent learning ;)
