I took the quiz before and after.  My score did improve.  

Not sure how practical this would be for individual courses, but setting a passing score as a requirement for a certificate would definitely give the individual certs more weight from the perspective of employers/organizations.  This could be especially helpful for persons wanting to formally demonstrate a level of training but not ready for MS level Certifications or the associated costs.
