OneNote vs Excel

In this video, Richard shared that he uses Excel to store notes, screen images, and other info while he is developing.

I have found a gem in the MS OneNote program. It is by far the best method to track all my notes while developing. Not only can I keep all my notes of any kind there, but I can also attach files, and it syncs across all my devices.

Give it a try.

I often add a temporary To Do List (Table and Form) to my database so I know what still needs to be done.
I also have a database for planning my database that keeps track of Table, Fields, Primary Keys, Forms, Queries and Reports.

OneNote provides nested groupings that are *three levels deep* -- a notebook can contain several tabs, and each tab can contain several pages (see picture below).  In Excel, you only have one level of grouping -- tabs.  That is the advantage of OneNote over Excel.  The multi-level groupings are better for organization, which is key if you have mountains of notes like I do.

I agree with Kevin Y 100%, it was actually a post by him that got me stated with OneNote.
