I don't have any experience with importing IIF files, but just throwing this out there as an alternative, I use the QODBC driver, its a paid service, but it integrates directly into quickbooks, you can put your quickbook tables into access and do just almost anything with QuickBooks. We use it to create customers/invoices directly in Access and it makes them in QuickBooks too so you don't have to double entry.

Note: Make sure you have good backups, I'm not responsible if you wipe out your quickbooks data accidentally. It's a very powerful tool that can modify pretty much everything in quickbooks, so don't connect to it and then delete * from customer or anything :P.
