Multiple selection List Box
John Schreiber

I am taking Developer 1 lessons right now. I realize I will get to this subject in a later lesson, but I have a DB that is dire need of using a multiple selection list box selected data.  I can create the multiple selection list box and select more than one item with no problem.

The problem is, I need to use the selected items in a query.  How do I set up the query to see the selected items for the list box.  Thanks,

Can you explain the use case?

Yes,  I have a table with many names and data in it, I want my users to be able to select a few users with the list box and have the feed a query.  The query will return each of the selected names and their data and show it on a report or form. This would make it possible to select the desired names quickly and not have to do it individually. So, 300 names in the list box, select 4 click a button to show a report with only those 4 names/data.

You could append them to a temporary table and base your query on that table. John

The screenshot below shows an example of looping through the selected items of a Multi Select List Box.
In my example I store the items in an array and output them to a Textbox in a comma delimited format.
This should give you an idea of how to work with them though I would strongly recommend watching the class in which Richard teaches them for a better understanding. Access Developer 15

To all of you, thanks you for the help.  Kevin, I will try to read your code and apply it. It is very small on my 27" screen but I will give it a try.  I get one lesson a week with a free one/month so it will take me a while to get to Lesson Dev 15.

If you click on the image it will open to a bigger version.

Kevin, could you possibly send me a copy of the code?

Thank you, Alex. That worked just fine.
