#64 When an auto Number is inserted by Append query or a recordset (programmatically), Access resets the Auto Number counter to the number inserted. The counter should remain at the last highest number, regardless of insertion. ID=3172 2:10 added to Access Team notes.

Lesson 1 - ~5mins Should there not have been a popup requesting a Primary Key to be set? (Didn't set it on the new ID)

There was no popup requesting a Primary Key because the Table was already saved.

But shouldn't the rule be if there isn't one at all there should be a reminder to add one?

I think it would get annoying if you manually removed the Primary Key and Access prompted you to add one.
