Single record form went haywire
Jeffrey Nabarek

I am about to put the girl on the market.  She has been very temperamental.  It does not display "new"  When I press the add button.  I have 115 records in my sample table.  It show 118.  The previous button gives me a " you can't go the the specified record."  Only when I get to record "1".  Needs an "on error..""  How do I set that up with a macro?

I renumbered the sample data and named the wrong table.  I fixed the record count.

Ignore the first statement.

problem #1.  Add button does not show New.

Problem #2 The button from the continuous form to this form does not display the chosen record.  All buttons are Macros.
The "first Record", Next Record, Last Record buttons work.z

Problem #3 The edit button needs some work.  Following Richard edit tech help.  That I think I can fix.  I put a lot of "Jeff" into my software design.  I just want it to give me a New.

return menu does work
The record count was fixed by naming the right table.  Amazing that change got a few thing working.

I would appreciate if you would provide me with any help.  I thank you in advance.  I am still learning from the school of hardknocks.

Thank you for responding.  I fixed the record count by naming the right table with 115 records.  My issue is the Add Record button does not give me a "new"

Can suggest something for the issue?

The Button Wizard adds an If block to the end of the Macro which is why you see the error message. To stop the message appearing, simply delete the If Block  from the Macro.

What's left is problem #3.

The rest of the buttons with the exception of the Edit button and Save button.  I can;t text the save button till I get the add button working.

What happens when you click the Add button? Does it go to a new record? Or are you saying the word "New" doesn't appear in the ID field? Is the ID an AutoNumber?

Kevin  I did that to the previous key.  It does not error out.  I also did that to the next button.

so what' s not working is the ADD button does not give me a "new."

When I press the add button.  It does not give me an "New in the PassID.  PassId is the auto number.

I just did it.  I dropped the Class down and chose a classification.  It incremented the record count by 1.  Its now 116.  So it does add one to the record count upon pressing save Record.

To answer your question  when you click the add button.  The PassID key is blank.  It does except data in the fields.  So to answer your question it does not Display "New" in the PassID field located on top left.   Yes the ID or PassID is the the auto number

The "Edit" button is nothing more then reviewing a tech help of Richards.  It should be "see Spot run coding."

So the first button, Previous button, Next button and the save button work.  What's left is the Add Button.  It does not display "New"

Can you suggest something for that.

Now Alex and Kevin  I can send you $20.00 on January 3rd.  I am broke due to Christmas.  I know it not a lot of money.  Lets see what happens when she on the market.

Who knows maybe I have a cash cow.

Try deleting the PassID from the Table. Save the Table and add the PassID back to the Table. You could also try removing it from the Form and re-adding the Field.

Alex and Kevin you were right on the mark.  I deleted the PassID field.  It gives me "New"  so all the buttons work.  I will work on the edit button.  I can fix that.  Its kindergarten coding.

Thank you.  Kevin and Alex.  I will not forget you.  1/3/25  payday.   I still have the registration to do .  Once again its see spot run.

You guy were lifesaver.  I was getting disgusted with my brain.  It was not working right.  I better eat more fish.  this will close this blog.  Until next time

P.S. The Pass:ID is "New"  the record count is correct.   So for the record.  I just remembered I had the PassID as a Number not auto number.  That was the problem  So you were are on the mark.  I  now need to backup the database.  Tweak some issues and get to creating a installation package. and I have to do registration seminar and I might have to do the security seminar.  I need to protect my future customers from hackers.  The law says you have to take reasonable precautions to fore see the issues with software.  Good old fashion tort law.  Although my user license agreement states that the case is subject to arbitration  and they agree to hold me harmless for issues involving hackers.  But that's ba hum bug.  Lawyers can get around that.  So I have to buy insurance to protect me from faviorous lawsuits.  The cost of package goes up by $3.00 per unit.  thats the price of doing business. This blog is now closed
