Good evening everybody.
I've downloaded Ricks Database after lesson 7.I have tried to filter by DOB and Gender.
I can't get it to work. Results are not showing up in EntityList.
Some help please.

The ORDER BY clause should be the last element of your SQL statement.

Also, you are using ABCD ver. 1.4 use the latest 1.6

I just got the sql seminare to educate myself.
So Im not sure what to do about it... yet.
Does that mean the sql in the downloadfile isnt right? Or am I using the db wrong?

I was going by what was in the Status Box on the Main Menu of your screenshot. The database works fine for me.

Ok I've downloaded ABCD 6-After2.  Same thing. No results on the left side.
In addition when I'm choosing Gender,Title etc the SearchTextCombo is empty. Nothing to choose from.
Where is it going wrong? I work with 365 and 64bit.

What do you get when you first open "Entity List"?
Sami Shamma  @Reply

Could it be the way you formatted the date with "." separators?
Dirk Merkel OP  @Reply

As it should be ( I believe)
no errors
EntityList opens as small window and then I use the ExtendBtn to get to the SearchField.

Separators? I cant see how. When you choose a date field you get automatically todays date in the box. And I have changed the year only (just the last for numbers)

using refresh btn doesnt change a thing. still no result.
But if it works on Kevins end, the prob is on my end.
Thing is..... I wouldnt know where to start looking. The DB is original. I didnt mess about. So must be my system?

Try setting the Format in the EntityT.

    mm/dd/yyyy
Dirk Merkel OP  @Reply

mm/dd/yyyy: No still nothing

Me being German: The region of my system is Germany, Language is English, Time and Date set by Windows
shouldn't matter Or?

Dirk,

Duplicating your setting is not a possibility for either me or Keven.

Can you show us what the table EntityT show the values for DOB in DataSheet view

I will bet this is a regional date format setting problem. This is why I try to get everyone to use ISO dates.

Good morning (05:15 am)..... time for an update.
Regarding ISO dates.... I don't need to be convinced. :-P . I agree with Richard 100%. And than there is always a "But"
The guys I'm working with.... they wont even switch office from 2013 to a newer version. Never mind ISO date.
That said: I switched my whole system to US region with ISO date and double digit time (09:00 am/pm)
And it worked.
DateCreated=check
DOB=check
even gender, title, prefix  etc.  works now
I do understand the Date/Time problem. I just have to figure out how to get it running on German region with ISO date.
What I still don't get are the fields based on numbers like prefix, title.
It didn't work either. Now it works.

switched step by step back to german region and it worked.
Still struggle with gender, title etc. The minute I switch back to Regional Format: Germany
the SearchTextCombo doesnt show any values
switching back to Regional Format: US
values appear in combobox
any pointers ?

As it turns out using a semicolon instead of a comma helps.
the sreenshot shows the original code for SearchField _AfterUpdate written by Richard. And it works with US settings.
When you change regional settings to germany you have to change comma to semicolon.
Sooooooooo got it to work. :-P
But what did I do?? Can someone explain that to me?
