Combo Search Box

Hi, Is there a way to use a combo box instead of the text box to do a search similar to your example?  I sell Tie Dye and sublimation items.  I am working on a database to track the different types of blanks, dyes, and other raw materials on hand.  I am not worried about customers or finished items.  In my ProductT, several of my fields are based on other tables:  CategoryID, BlankType, BlankColorId, StyleID, BrandID, etc.  I want to search my ProductListF using these fields using combo boxes.  I have watched hours of videos, and I’m confusing myself.  Can someone please point me to the video/videos to help me figure this out? Thank you in advance for the help. Tish

Hi Letitia

It is a similar concept. I see that you have purchased few developer Lessons. Do you know VBA?

To do this with a Combo box:
1) Create your combo box and link it to the lookup table, for example CategoryT
2) bring in both fields
3) give your combo box good name for example CategortCombo
4) in the Query criteria --> =Forms!ProductListF!CategortCombo.  Note, use "=" do not use "Like"

Repete for the other search fields.

1) give your combo box a good name

I know some VBA. I took several programming courses in college around 14 years ago. I have been trying to refresh my memory, but my 52-year-old brain doesn't always cooperate. I am using a statement similar to yours.  I named my combo box CategorySearchCombo.  I think I need to use a join to attach the Main table to the support table in the query.  I'm off to rewatch the join videos. Thank you for your time and help, it is appreciated. Have a good one. Tish

in the query just link all your lookup tables so you can display the values.
Good luck.

I am very happy to report I was able to figure out my issues.  Thank you for your help, Sami!   I ended up going with a me.filter on the after update on the combo box.  Have a great one.  🤘
