More InformationTranscript Hey folks, Richard Rost here with Computer Learning Zone.
I just wanted to take a couple of minutes to celebrate a pretty cool milestone and, most importantly, to say thank you.
Earlier this month, the Computer Learning Zone YouTube channel turned 20 years old. That's right, I started this channel way back in September of 2006. Back then, YouTube itself was barely a year old, and I certainly had no idea that 20 years later I'd still be here making videos, teaching you guys stuff, and having as much fun with it as I do today.
Over those 20 years, I published 2,547 videos on this channel, and that's not even including shorts. We've grown to over a quarter million subscribers with more than 51 million views, and here's the number that really blows my mind. All of you combined have spent more than 3.3 million hours watching my videos.
And that's a hard number to wrap your head around, so of course, I'm a nerd. I did the math.
If you took all of those viewing hours, added them together, and somehow magically could give them to just one person, that's about 376 years of non-stop watching. So if the mathematician Blaise Pascal had started watching my videos around the year 1650 and watched them 24 hours a day, he'd just now be finishing.
Of course, that would assume a Star Trek episode with time travel, and they go back and give him a computer that's got YouTube and all that stuff.
Now, would Pascal have enjoyed them? I'd wager he would. Sorry, I had to.
But seriously, I want to thank every one of you who watched one of my videos, subscribed to the channel, left a comment, asked a question, shared a video, or just stopped by over the years to learn something new.
And I want to give an especially big thank you to my channel members and everyone who's supported Computer Learning Zone over the years. Your support and membership are what allow me to keep doing what I love doing every day: teaching people about computers and technology, and specifically Microsoft Access.
It's been my passion for decades. I've been teaching this stuff since 1994. I'm getting old.
And after all these years, I still genuinely enjoy sitting down in front of the computer, learning something new myself, and then figuring out the best way to teach it to all of you.
And I'm nowhere near finished. I've got lots more planned, lots more videos coming, lots more Microsoft Access, Excel, VBA, SQL Server, Windows, some AI stuff, and Microsoft Word.
Believe it or not, one of my number one videos still to this day is a Microsoft Word video. So go figure.
And of course, whatever other new cool technology comes out that I decide we need to learn, I'm going to make videos on that too.
So, to everyone who's been a part of the channel over the past 20 years, whether you've been here since the early days or you just subscribed yesterday, thank you for watching, and thank you for your support.
It's been an amazing 20 years. Here's to the next 20.
And if you guys rack up another 3 million watch hours, well, Pascal is going to have to start all over again.
So thanks, everyone. Live long and prosper, and I'll see you in the next video.
Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed this video.

Quiz No quiz available. Summary I am celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Computer Learning Zone YouTube channel and thanking everyone who has helped make it possible.
I started the channel in September 2006, when YouTube itself was still very new. At the time, I certainly did not expect that I would still be creating videos two decades later, teaching people about computers and technology, and enjoying it as much as I do today.
Over the past 20 years, I have published 2,547 videos on the channel, not including Shorts. The channel has grown to more than a quarter of a million subscribers and over 51 million views. Even more amazing, viewers have collectively spent more than 3.3 million hours watching my videos.
As a longtime nerd and teacher, I had to put that number into perspective. If all 3.3 million viewing hours were given to a single person, that person would spend roughly 376 years watching continuously. Blaise Pascal could have started watching around 1650 and would only now be finishing, assuming some kind of Star Trek time travel scenario gave him a computer, YouTube, and an Internet connection. I would like to think Pascal would have enjoyed the lessons. That is a wager I am willing to make.
More importantly, I want to thank everyone who has watched a video, subscribed, commented, asked questions, shared lessons, or simply visited the channel to learn something new. I am especially grateful to my channel members and everyone who has supported Computer Learning Zone over the years. Your support allows me to continue doing what I enjoy most: teaching people about computers, technology, and especially Microsoft Access.
I have been teaching this material since 1994, and although that makes me feel a little old, I still genuinely enjoy learning new things and finding practical ways to explain them clearly. I am not finished yet. I have plenty more videos planned covering Microsoft Access, Excel, VBA, SQL Server, Windows, AI, Microsoft Word, and whatever other useful technologies come along.
It may surprise some people that one of my most popular videos is still a Microsoft Word lesson, but that is one of the things I enjoy about teaching. You never know which topic will help the most people.
Whether you have been following the channel from the beginning or subscribed yesterday, thank you for being part of these first 20 years. I appreciate your support, and I am looking forward to the next 20. If everyone adds another 3 million watch hours, then poor Pascal may have to start all over again.
You can find a complete video tutorial with step-by-step instructions on everything discussed here on my website at the link below. Live long and prosper, my friends. Topic List A 20th anniversary thank-you message for viewers and supporters of the Computer Learning Zone YouTube channel. Article Computer Learning Zone recently reached its 20th anniversary. The channel began in September 2006, when YouTube was still new, with the goal of helping people learn computers and technology in a practical, approachable way.
Over the years, the channel has published 2,547 videos, not including short-form content. It has grown to more than a quarter million subscribers and over 51 million views. Collectively, viewers have spent more than 3.3 million hours learning from the channel.
That amount of viewing time is difficult to picture. If all 3.3 million hours were assigned to one person watching continuously, it would equal roughly 376 years. In other words, someone beginning around the year 1650 would only be finishing today, assuming they had access to a computer, YouTube, and an uninterrupted internet connection.
The continued support of viewers, subscribers, commenters, question askers, and members has made it possible for Computer Learning Zone to continue producing lessons. Membership and other support help sustain the ongoing work of creating educational content, especially for Microsoft Access and related technology topics.
