The Monotony of Synthesized Voices
Lisa Snider

When looking online for tutorials on Access, one of the most important criteria was the teacher had to engage my interest, to ensure I didn't space out during the lessons.  Going to YouTube, I searched for MS Access, and found multiple resources for the topic, many of which sounded like they were either reading from a book, or were too bothered to make the class interesting for their students.  When I discovered your tutorials, I was done searching, and haven't looked elsewhere since.  Maybe it's the tone and inflection of your voice, you are engaged with the topics you cover.  You're the instructor who "stands" at the front of the class, making virtual eye contact with your students, bringing the subject alive.  Text-to-speech? I see the necessity for hearing impaired viewers, but voice synthesis is an entirely different matter. The monotony of synthesized voices can never replace the personality of a engaging instructor.

So far, the comments have been about 50/50, with some people liking it and others thinking it's creepy, like Sami. (No, not that I'm saying Sami is creepy; I'm saying Sami finds the voice creepy.) Anyways, I think you have put the final nail in the coffin. I'll stop using the synthesized voices moving forward unless I find a really cool, fun one, like a William Shatner voice. Lol.
