Exporting Filtered Continuous Form Data to Excel
Tony Mannweiler

Hi all,

I have the Search Template and incorporated it into my database. I can export the filtered data to an Excel workbook/worksheet, but only by recreating the RequeryForm subroutine.

The file can't save to the nominated folder because the filename is the SQL statement.

I am sure there is, but is there a way to run the filters, and then export the filtered information to Excel, rather than the whole file (CustomerT)?

Thanks Juan,

The RecordSource used in this awesome series uses the CutomerT or CustomerLFQ objects throughout.

I've been searching the library for a method to use a recordset of filtered data as the RecordSource, instead of a static Table or Query, but don't seem to have come across anything yet.

Sometimes a Table or Query has massive amounts of data in it, and takes ages to save a file. If the data was filtered, before saving to the Excel file, it would reduce the time taken to export and only export the information you wanted.

I've tried a few options, but can't seem to get it. I figure the RecordSource will be the name of my query or another Subroutine where the query data has been filtered.

I'm at a loss as to how to export filtered data from a query to Excel.

Juan,

I have set the RecordSource as the necessary SQL statement, and the output works as intended.

The file doesn't save to the nominated folder because the SQL is used as the filename - obviously, that doesn't work.

I'd like to set the output filename to the query name, rather than the SQL so that it can be saved to the nominated folder...I figure I am just missing a final step in the process.
