Microsoft Access Opportunities in Canada
Gerry David

This is my first communication on this forum so I don't know whether I should ask this question  on this forum or not. My Question : Are there any opportunities in Canada for Access developer and where are they. I rarely see an access developer job. I used to be an access developer; I worked for 10 years (1999-2009) with some breaks. My career got derailed in 2009 when there was severe recession, unfortunately I could not get on. So, is there any hope here in Canada or in US. I am a Canadian citizen. I joined this website to come back on track because I love Access.

You really don't see a lot of companies posting job want ads for Access developers. The way that you're going to get work as an Access developer is if you go out on your own as a consultant. Hang your shingle and look for work that way. At least that's what I did. I don't see a lot of companies looking for Access developers. There's a lot of small businesses and midsize businesses that can definitely use an Access database. They know that they have a need for a database solution. They just don't know that Access is the right one for them. So that's the key. I talk about this on my Advice for Consultants page.

Gerry yeah, get in touch with Sami. His consultancy has opportunities for Access developers. Great guy, too.
