how could I also include in my function the second criteria "vbyesnocancel ...", so that it may be changed ?

You need to change the function slightly as you need to check for the values that will return True.
Something like this:

Public Function CustomMsgBox(Prompt As String, _

                            Optional Buttons As VbMsgBoxStyle = vbOKOnly, _

                            Optional Title As String = "") As Boolean



    Dim myReply As Long

    myReply = MsgBox(Prompt, Buttons, Title)

    

    If myReply = vbYes Or myReply = vbOK Then

        CustomMsgBox = True

    Else

        CustomMsgBox = False

    End If



End Function
