What may be cool is to have weight loss challenges in the db. If several people can join in online and enter their weight (daily or weekly) and track it for a given period of time and find out who has the biggest percentage weight change.

Maybe have a way to have accountability partners to encourage one another.

Thanks, Chris! I'm really glad you're excited about the series - it's going to be a fun one to build and a useful tool for anyone tracking their health.

I love the idea of a weight loss challenge feature. Years ago, I joined one myself, and it was incredibly motivating. That said, one of the biggest lessons I've learned since then is that fitness isn't a race - it's a lifestyle shift. The number on the scale can be helpful, but it's not the whole picture.

Body composition matters more than just weight. If someone loses 10 pounds but half of that is muscle, that's not really a win. Muscle is denser than fat, so you can weigh the same (or even a little more) but look and feel way better. Some people lose 5 pounds of fat, but gain 4 pounds of muscle, and they get discouraged because they only "lost" one pound according to the scale. That's one of the reasons I recommend getting a scale that calculates fat percentage. Here's the one I use.

And I really like the idea of accountability partners too. A system like that could make a big difference in staying on track. Appreciate the suggestion - I might try to add something like this to the list once we get to the online portion.

Richard I agree 100% percent with everything you said. Personally I need the motivation and accountability to keep me on track. Glad to hear you’ve been working out. Keep it up!!!!
