A damned if you do and a damned if you don't thing. Tech help videos tease new *Potential* members to join. But no new classes kills the golden goose that pays the bills.
Yeah, well, it worked for the longest time because most of my developer students were still in the middle of the series. You know, if you're sitting at Developer 20 and there's still 30 more lessons to go, you're fine. But over the past year, I've seen a lot of developer students finish all 50 available lessons and then be like, "Okay, what's next?"
So the TechHelp videos have done a great job of bringing in new members, but now I'm to the point where I really have to start making stuff for those members. I'm still going to release an extended cut every week or so, but as far as the free TechHelp videos go, I'm going to start scaling those back a little bit and focusing more on SEO and keywords.
