Business Analytics Access Developer San Diego CA
TechNews

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Business Analytics Access Developer for a full-time position in San Diego, CA. The advertised compensation range is $77,600 to $176,000 annually in USD. The employer's page does not clearly identify this specific role as on-site, hybrid, or remote. Applications are listed as closing January 12, 2027. The requisition is R0251655.

What the role entails:

You'll build Access databases, queries, and user forms that automate processes and help government clients collect and analyze business data. Requirements include two or more years developing split Access databases, combining and transforming text, CSV, and Excel data, and reading and writing SQL in Access or SQL Server. A bachelor's degree and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required. Two or more years of Access VBA experience, SharePoint, visualization tools, and Department of Defense experience are listed as advantages.

About Booz Allen Hamilton:

Booz Allen provides technology and consulting services for government work, including defense and national security. This position supports government clients; the listing does not identify a specific agency.

Rick's take:

This is a genuine Access development opportunity. Split databases, queries, forms, and data transformation are central to the work. Expert-level database fundamentals would help, but I'd want practical experience building and maintaining multi-user applications. Developer-level VBA skills would strengthen an application even though VBA is in the preferred qualifications. You also need to be comfortable with SQL and turning messy source files into useful data. The degree and clearance requirements matter, so check those carefully before applying.
