Hi Rick, love the videos and following along and building the DB. But no matter what i`ve tried to insert an image, it only displays as an icon? i`ve tried all different formats from bitmap to jpeg, and also tried inserting. But still no luck, can you help please.
Bitmap should do it. I've never seen a BMP not working. Honestly, I don't even like this method of working with images anymore. I prefer the NEW METHOD which was only added in Access 2013, I believe. Next time I re-record this class, I'll be sure to teach the new method. OLE Objects need to go away. :)

It was no picnic for me today to figure out how to get my employee pic into the bound object frame on my employee form. Drop and drag did not work. The pic was HUGE! Inserting the btmap image with a right click in the form preview did the job.

Julie - Don't get too wrapped up in the OLE picture. Richard shows how to use it but then covers a much better way of just linking to the file on your computer in later lessons.
Read the rest of the post above yours. Click the "NEW METHOD" link in Richard's reply to learn more.
Yeah, OLE objects are OK for small, TINY pictures. Simple little thumbnails for products or employees, etc. But don't put any BIG images in them. You'll bog your database down. Use the new method (above).
