You can use the SQL string with a query if that's what you mean

So the search form worked when using the query in video one.  When I pointed the form to the table as the control source, the SQL string could not work with the table for one field only that lives in another table.  I pointed the form's source back to the query and it was waaaaay too slow (SQL Back end tables).  So I am using the table again and will have to add the missing field to this table.  Adam, you know the one... RelName  (our Nemesis on all forms in the DB)

Are you de-normalising if you're adding that Field?

No Alex.  That field didn't exist.  the value was derived from a combo box.  It's working now except for the triple state checkbox but I see someone else posted that theirs wasn't working either.  Maybe I'll learn from his resolution.  Thanks!
