Hi Richard I'm having a problem with copying the children. I don't get any error messages, but the children just seem to be added to the old record. I checked using a message box that the old and new keys are different ,and they are, and obviously the copying is working, so I guess the error must be in teh pasting. Bit I cannot find any errors in that or any other section compared to your original code. Do you have any ideas what the problem could be?
It must be that you're not setting the new parent ID right as the foreign key in the child table.

That was also my assumption, but I don't see how that could be, I cheched that the newkey is right by printing both keys in a message box, and my code for pasting is here (the FilterForm is the main form, and backwashoverview that subtable):
