Ah yea, you will get into it in the developer lessons. They're really powerful.

Basically without putting anything in those, you are just calling the function and everything is done inside the function, if you put those in, then you can send a variable and that variable can be used inside of the function itself. Not sure if this example explains what's happening or not.

Thanks Adam! That makes it a lot clearer. I never  understood why sometimes Richard used them and other times he didn't. I just knew that when I followed along with him, they worked, and when I tried to write them myself, the didn't.  Now that my electric is back on (been off for nearly 3 days due to snow), I'm going to see if I can get them to work.  I had stopped on the developer series because the last one was nothing but building forms, etc. and I've been doing that for years.  Anyway, thanks again!
