When I try to change the Display Control on a Yes/No Data Type it reverts back to Check Box. I really want it to be a Text Box. Is there a sitting somewhere else that I have to set?

Add a Text Box to your form and change the Control Source to your Yes/No field.

Not on a form. Building a new table in query that will hold the value

Use the IIF function.
NewField: IIF(YesNoField, True, False)
When you run the query you will get 0 and -1 in the new column.
Right click on the new column and go to Properties.
In the Format box type in True/False.
You should now have a column of True and False Values.
