I'm trying to use a Parameter Query to pull up a field from Table A (Projects) that is drawn from Table B (Category). I want the Query to produce Projects from only one Category specified by the User via the Parameter Query. However, when I use [Enter Category Name] as my Parameter Query, it returns an error message if I type any kind of TEXT. Instead, it is looking for me to type in the ID number from the Category Table, rather than the text name of the Category. How do I get it to accept the Text name as a parameter? In my Projects Table, the 'Category' field pulls in both the ID and the Category Name from the Category Table, but only displays the Category Name, because I've hidden the ID. Does that somehow cause this problem? Thank you

Have you added the Parameter to the criteria of the correct column?

Yes, the Projects Table only allocates one column to "Category", and it displays the Category Name text. Interestingly, its Properties field shows it as a NUMBER, which is the ID number from the Category Table. Yet it displays as text. but it seems like the Parameter Query can only access it via the number. (I believe I may have used the 'Lookup Wizard' to create this column in the first place, and this seems to be the standard way the Wizard sets it up after you ask it to pull in a field from a second table.)
