When trying to use the button wizard I keep getting an error message that says "Underfined function 'apploadstring' in expression" I click ok and it allows me to go through the wizard but then when I try to use the button it pops back up with that error and does not allow me to use the button.

Is it just your current database or all databases?
If it is just your current database it may be a corrupted database file. Try creating a new database and importing all the objects from the other database. Do you still get the error?
It is all databases. I tried creating a new one and creating a button and it still gives the same error

It appears that the button wizard is inserting a call that's invalid. It's easy to fix (just clear the call from that code the Wizard creates), but don't understand why it's happening all of a sudden. I ended up just turning off the button wizard, as it doesn't "buy" that much anyway.
