Sub Form as a Single Form

Morning I have a single form with a sub form which is also a single form. I don't want to add records via the Master Form (this is called from a dashboard and defaults the Case number which is the key) but I do want to add records via the Child form. I however dont have this option - Is there a way to do this or must the sub form be a continuous form?

There is no restriction on the sub-form being a single record form. Having said that, the way you're using subforms is not conventional. Why do you need two forms to enter one record?

hi the main form is used to search for a Case Number from the CaseT and then show some relevant information. The sub form is so they can make feedback entries per case into the DiaryT. I have created a button on the main form for the feedback and this works fine.
