Signing In

Hey, this is a technique I'm exploring for automating signing onto websites. Unless you recommend something else, I was attempting to use this technique for signing into an account. I have no real preference if it's controlled through MS Access Edge Browser Control or opens to a new browser window. The former I am running into issues when executing signing in where the website forces a browser window to open but resets the sign-in, starting it all over again. The latter method of opening a browser would be okay too, but I would like in the process the userid and pw are filled in sequence of opening. Then I can hit submit to sign on. Curious on what thoughts you have on this. Thanks

It's extremely hit or miss based on the website. I can use the Edge browser to log into certain sites and not others. It all depends on how the site is set up. A lot of banks and PayPal, for example, use security and redirects so that you can't do something like that. But other sites, like my own, I can easily open in the Edge browser because I'm not super high security here.

Understood, I was seeing the same results too. Not sure if this is the right way to think about it but could google chrome's API be used, called by access Vba to open a browser and sign. Assuming the legwork was done first for that account to know which url address and form fields to fill out?

You could definitely try that. I started looking into Google's API a while back, but it's incredibly complicated and not very well-documented, so I kind of gave up on it. But one of these days, I plan to dig into it a little bit more.
