Stock Portfolio

I have double and tripled checked the code and everything works up until I run the refresh data button. The sataus shows the Excel file is opening but then everything freezes. I end the excel task and the debug shows this line of code not working.

XL.Workbooks.Open "D:\OneDrive\Desktop\Stocks.xlsm"

I have checked the address and it is correct. What is wrong.

Do you get any error messages?

It is strange, all I get is a beep after the statusbox shows opening Excel. I have to use Task Manager to end the task, then I get the the error message below.

Hi Robert
Did you double check the name on the statusbox?

The statusbox is working fine, the first message shows up (Opening Excel). At about 10 seconds after that command pops up I hear a beep and Access locks up. I have to use the task manager to end the Excel process, then the error message pops up.

Does the stock database that Richard built in class work on your machine?

I created the stock update form, with the button, closed down the stock portfolio form, and ran the process and it worked.

Kevin, I followed along and created it by hand. It worked a couple of times but now I am getting the same error as before. I am rebooting my computer to clear the memory, then I will try again. I don't think Excel is closing down properly. I will see what happens and let you know.

May I ask what class or Tech Help Robert is using to formulate the db and code for this original post?

Guys I found that onnce I completed the techhelp video, everything works and now I need stocks to input into the form. I have tried opening and closing it and used the buttons and no issues. Thanks for your input.
